Verdict
Felipe Cortés is one of Miahuatlán's reference mezcaleros, and his bicuishe is among the most composed karwinskii bottles currently imported. The refrescador still gives it oily texture, the 49.4% proof honors the agave, the glass aging integrates without dulling. This sits shoulder-to-shoulder with Mezcalosfera and NETA's karwinskii bottles at the top of the category.
Don Felipe's bicuishe is Miahuatlán karwinskii at its ceiling
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet moss with stone fruit, a mineral depth
Palate: 49.4% and refrescador distillation carry bicuishe's slate-tinged architecture at full strength – celery and stone up top, a fruit depth through the middle, glass aging adding integration without filing the edges
Finish: Mineral, herbal – very long
The bottom line
Buy it. The karwinskii ceiling at its tier
