Verdict

Six-agave ensambles usually collapse into a muddle or announce themselves as a sampler. Diego Lucas Garcia's version does neither, each component reads, and together they argue for the blend as a distinct expression rather than an accident of mixing tanks. This is the ensamble you serve someone who thinks ensambles are a compromise.

Tasting notes

Nose: Layered: green herbs, cooked fruit, stone, soft smoke, wildflower

Palate: Dense and polyphonic, with six agaves, including tepextate and tobalá – pulling in different directions but held together by the maestro's hand. Proof carries the weight

Finish: Shifting, mineral

The bottom line

Worth the chase. The ensamble that justifies the format
