Verdict
Tres Papalote is named after the agave on this label, and the cupreata is the bottle that justifies the name – where the espadín is a price-point exercise, this one sounds like an actual producer made it. At 46% and with the Guerrero mineral pull intact, it holds its own next to Bozal's Guerrero work. Skip the espadín; track this.
The espadín is forgettable. The papalote is why the label exists
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet stone, ripe plum, cracked pepper, damp leaves
Palate: Aromatic and mineral. At 46%, with the cupreata's signature Guerrero iron note holding the center and a floral top-lift that keeps the structure from getting heavy
Finish: Cooling, limestone – long
The bottom line
Worth tracking. The namesake bottle is the only one that matters
