Verdict
The late Aquilino García Lopez was one of the maestros who defined the Vago house. This six-agave ensamble shows why – at 50.9%, every component reads through the blend without any one agave dominating. It's ensamble as composition, not mixing-tank math. Honor the maestro and pour it neat.
Aquilino García doesn't average agaves. He orchestrates them
Tasting notes
Nose: Layered: dark fruit, cooked agave, wet stone, green pepper, wildflower
Palate: With each component – cuishe, espadín, madrecuishe, mexicano, sierra negra, tepextate – reading through the blend. Proof carries everything; dense and polyphonic at 50.9%
Finish: Shifting, mineral – very long
The bottom line
Worth chasing. An ensamble from a maestro worth remembering
