Verdict
Emigdio Jarquín's tobalá is one of the bottles that explains why Vago became a reference house – the plant's characteristic sweetness doesn't dominate, the mineral pull gives it structure, and the 50% proof holds the tension. Between this and Tosba's tobalá (which is quieter), this is the louder voice in the sub-$90 tier.

Tasting notes
Nose: Honey, then melon rind, wildflower, warm stone
Palate: Concentrated and mineral at 50%, with tobalá's sweetness held in tension with the Miahuatlán river rock signature and the 50% proof carrying both
Finish: Dry, slate-tinged – very long
