Verdict
Vecindad's single-palenque line is Jalisco's answer to what Vago did in Oaxaca – named producers, named agaves, named towns, and Hildegardo Joya's chico amarillo from Cabo Corrientes is a working example. At 44% the coastal brine note reads clearly, and the Cabo Corrientes terroir is distinct from the inland Jalisco work. We come in at 3.5.
Jalisco amarillo on the coast tastes like its zip code
Tasting notes
Nose: Tropical fruit with green pepper, coastal brine
Palate: With the Jalisco coastal vegetation reading fully and the structure lean; bright and aromatic at 44%
Finish: Long, cooling, faintly salty
The bottom line
Worth tracking. Coastal Jalisco agave with legible terroir
