Verdict
Abel Benitez's lineño is the sort of bottle that rewards patience – the agave doesn't announce itself, but the mineral austerity and the capón harvest give it enough depth to sit through a whole glass. At 46% it's proofed correctly, and the Las Canoas fingerprint holds. Reading at 3.5.
Lineño is Jalisco's quieter wild. Benitez lets it stay quiet
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet stone with wildflower, a dry-herb note
Palate: Lean and mineral at 46%, with the capón harvest adding mid-palate weight and the Las Canoas terroir running dry and austere
Finish: Cooling, wet slate – long
The bottom line
Worth tracking. Quiet lineño with legible terroir
