Verdict
Madrecuishe needs at least 48% to carry its dry aromatic structure, and Jose Lucas gets right to the edge and holds it. Between this and Emigdio Jarquín's Miahuatlán madrecuishe at 50%, the agave has two reference benches working across two towns. Hunt this one – it's the San Isidro Guishe voice.
Below 48%, madrecuishe runs thin. Lucas hits the sweet spot
Tasting notes
Nose: Green pepper, then wet rope, wildflower, mineral
Palate: Lean and structured at 48.4%, with the karwinskii's dry aromatic depth running the whole palate and the San Isidro Guishe terroir anchoring
Finish: Drying, river rock – very long
The bottom line
Worth the chase. Madrecuishe at reference proof and terroir
