Verdict
Isidro Damián's espadín is a competent bottle in a Wild Common line that does better with its wild agaves. The bottling is clean and the proof is honest, but the liquid doesn't have much to argue about, it reads as a producer on a quiet day. Buy the ensamble or the cuishe first; come back to this one after.
Single-maestro doesn't always mean singular
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked agave, then light smoke, baked apple, a trace of wildflower
Palate: The espadín running clean and warm without a lot of drama. Honest, well-made, a little reserved; medium-weight at 47%
Finish: Dry, lightly sweet
The bottom line
Honest espadín, no fireworks. Shelf it behind the ensamble
