Verdict

Yuu Baal's three-agave ensamble is honest mid-shelf work. The madrecuishe earns its place by keeping the espadín's sweetness in check, and the tobalá adds a floral lift that keeps the middle from going flat. Not as vivid as Wild Common's ensamble, but fairly priced and reliable. Reach for it when the Banhez runs out.

Tasting notes

Nose: Cooked agave with green herbs, honey, a dry stone undertone

Palate: The three agaves playing their parts cleanly, espadín for structure, madrecuishe for dry edge, tobalá for floral lift. Nothing jumps; medium-weight at 45%

Finish: Dry, lightly sweet. Medium

The bottom line

A dependable second-tier ensamble. Fair at the price
