Verdict
Yuu Baal's tepeztate is honestly made but not compelling – the proof (45%) undersells a 25-year agave the way most commercial tepeztates do, and the Yuu Baal production doesn't compensate with extra discipline. If you want tepeztate, there's a steep drop past the $90 tier into the Jolgorio, Rey Campero, and Mal Bien range. 3.2 consensus matches. A placeholder bottle.
A tepeztate on a budget is still a budget tepeztate
Tasting notes
Nose: Wildflower with faint smoke
Palate: Legible but uncommanding – the tepeztate's drama is cut off at the ankles
Finish: Drying, cooling – medium
The bottom line
Fine. You'll want to save for better
