Verdict
Zancudo Tobalá is a competent mid-shelf tobalá that trades depth for approachability. At 43% the agave shows up but doesn't argue. Banhez Tobalá does the same job more cheaply and more vividly; Wild Common's ensamble gets you tobalá in a serious blend for similar money. Pass unless the shelf forces your hand.
Tobalá you can describe in one adjective, and shouldn't have to
Tasting notes
Nose: Honey, then melon, light smoke, floral top
Palate: Medium-weight, tobalá's mineral-floral character present but softened. Clean, approachable, not striking
Finish: Medium, lightly sweet, short end
The bottom line
Pass. Better tobalás sit nearby at every price
