Verdict
Dady'O is a brand that lands between serious and commercial and this espadín is the document of that tension. 40% is commercial territory regardless of the maestro listed on the label. Skip; for the Matatlán espadín you actually wanted, Banhez at a dollar more or Mestiza Negra at $20 both run 45% with a producer behind the proof. Named maestros deserve bottles that honor their work – this one doesn't.
A maestro's name on a bottle at 40% is a document of compromise
Tasting notes
Nose: Light citrus, then cooked agave, soft smoke
Palate: Hugo Cesar García González is capable of more – at 40% ABV the agave doesn't have the proof to show up fully
Finish: Clean, faintly sweet. Short
The bottom line
Skip; Banhez or Mestiza Negra serves this role at similar money
